Greetings and WELCOME to our home in cyberspace!

Texian Ranch Enterprises is a "loosely organized" merger between Ed Boyd, Rachel Boyd and David Larremore. It encompasses a merging of hearts and minds in a mutual passion for our Colonial Texas past and for the courageous men and women who made Texas what it is today. We express this love of our unique past in various ways; predominantly in Republic of Texas Reenacting (c.1836) and our preference of contracting our skills in the field of Primitive Construction.

The structures we prefer to build are as traditional as possible, while still allowing for modern amenities as long as they are blended well or even hidden altogether from view. This is the only way in which one can enjoy the unparalleled ambiance of a truly primitive structure.

Too many of the modern structures being touted as "log cabins" are in fact nothing less than 21st Century mansions made out of perfectly shaped (milled) logs. We have even had folks speak of seeing a "log cabin" only to find out it was nothing more than a trailer house with half-round-milled siding, that gave it the appearance of being made of logs. These types of structures surely have their place in this world, but should never, ever be confused with a real log cabin or other such truly primitive structure, which has a very unique "feel" and a simple beauty unlike any modernized structure.

If we 21st Century Texans fail to recognize and cherish an honest rendition of our heritage then we will have lost something truly special - and it may be lost entirely to our children.
