An Appeal to Texas Democrats, Libertarians and Independents … VOTE DEBRA MEDINA!

013010 - Ed Boyd

Yes, that's right, I'm appealing for you to vote for a Republican. And here are the many reasons why:

First, please allow me to setup the scenario which is being played-out in Texas Republican circles in this nomination cycle.

Have you noticed a paradigm shift in the way our entire nation is beginning to think? Being a devout Ron Pauler during his campaign for the presidency, I can tell you that I have. Dr. Paul was the catalyst for a movement the likes of which hasn't been seen since the days of the Founders themselves. Like Debra Medina, he too was running on the Republican ticket, yet he received support from folks who had never before bothered to vote. He also received support from folks who considered themselves Independents, Libertarians and yes, even Democrats. He woke up the “apathetics” and he transcended Party boundaries. Why was that?

As a Republican – a real one – many of us paleocons took a lot of heat from our own Party for siding with Dr. Paul and absolutely refusing to support the likes of the neocon RINO John McCain during the 2008 election. We were called everything from “traitors” to “Democrat” for doing so. It hurt; especially due to the fact that we were in fact the real conservative Republicans within our Party.

Upon Dr. Paul's announcement that he was stepping out of the race, almost all of we Republicans in the Ron Paul movement went on to vote for somebody other than our Party's nominee. I voted for Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate and there were many others who voted for Bob Barr, who was fielded by the Libertarians. We took a lot of flak for that, yet I consider it to be one of the most gratifying moments in my own political history. I was downright proud to have voted for my ideology rather than the “lesser of two evils” for a change.

Ron Paul sparked a movement of thought in this country. His quiet integrity, openness and honesty sparked a watershed moment in the minds of men and women throughout the United States. We the People were no longer satisfied with the status quo in Washington from either side of the aisle and we were looking for a way out. His movement transcended all political and ideological boundaries and if you ask me, it was long overdue.

Was Dr. Paul's attempt at the lofty office of President of the United States a futile gesture? Was he Don Quixote tilting at windmills? Maybe. But let me remind you that an army of Don Quixotes is, well, an army! What Dr. Paul succeeded in doing – glowingly – was to pave the way for many, many other Average Joes to decide to join him in the battle against that windmill. Debra Medina is just such an Average Joe. She truly is “one of us!” Being a "Ron Paul Republican" herself, she will never, EVER allow unconstitutional legislation to pass her veto-pen unscathed.  End of story!  She will uphold both United States Constitutional dictates and Texas Constitutional dictates ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the time!  Beyond even that, she will proactively pursue a platform of correcting the many unconstitutional laws already on the books here in Texas.  The many "good 'ol boy" networks within our state government - a prime example being the Texas Department of Transportation - will be on borrowed time the minute she steps into the governor's seat.  She also truly has a shot – a real shot – at becoming the next Governor of the Great State of Texas.

Regardless of whether you have a “D,” “R,” “L” or “I” engraved into your heart, there remains the one indisputable fact that we all suffer from despotic rule and, likewise, we all benefit from freedom. A Debra Medina governorship can give all of us the chance to claim freedom once again; not just here in Texas but throughout the nation as well. How, you ask? Because a win by Mrs. Medina will become yet another catalyst – just like Dr. Paul's bid for the presidency – which will create a spark in the minds of We the People in other states. I have absolutely no doubt about that.
A win by Mrs. Medina will shake the establishment-oriented Party hierarchy – from both parties – to it's very core! The constitution-be-damned collectivists/globalists currently in charge of both of the major parties will know that their days are numbered and We the People will know that our days are once again beginning.

Texas Libertarians and Independents are used to voting “for the person” and my guess is that you folks within these two camps are already watching the Republican campaign closely. As for my fellow Texans within the Democrat camp, please consider this: you know as well as I do that the governorship of Texas is simply not winnable by a Democrat. Simple math belies this possibility. Given that fact, you can still have a chance at saying, “I voted for freedom in Texas – AND WON!” You too can be on the winning side of freedom in Texas.

On this note, I should clarify a few things for those of you who might not understand the entire process. For starters, there is no such thing as a “Registered Republican” in the State of Texas. Likewise, there is no such thing as a “Registered Democrat.” Many folks seem to be confused about this issue. “But if I vote in the Republican Primary on March 2nd, I'll have my voter registration card stamped 'REPUBLICAN' on it's face. Doesn't that make me a Republican?” Emphatically – NO!
The sole purpose of that stamp is to assure that you vote only in one primary! You may only vote in either the Democratic Primary or the Republican Primary and the stamp merely shows in which primary you voted. Even with that stamp across your voter registration card, you can then vote for whomever you wish in the general election come November!

Of course, I would hope that you will vote for Debra Medina for Governor in the General Election in November – regardless of whether you vote for candidates in your own party who are on the ballot seeking other offices – since, with your help during this Primary election, Medina will get the Republican nomination and hence become the governor of Texas! Remember that we'll need your help during not only the Primary Election (to get her on the ballot as the official Republican nominee), but also to get her on into the governor's seat via the General Election.

One final note about getting your voter registration card stamped is that you should actually insist upon it. There may be some precincts in which you will have to specifically request the stamp. It's critical that you do just that! Although it's the law that they do so, some precincts have been known to be lax about performing this step and it can lead to problems later. It's likely that most such instances of the Primary Election officials not stamping your card is due to simple laziness, ignorance or oversight, yet there is always the chance that officials with nefarious intentions will bypass this step on purpose, in order to sway a predicted Runoff Election. If you have no stamp on your voter registration card when you go in to vote during a runoff, then election officials could claim that you have no proof of having voted in the Primary, which is a requirement in order to vote in a Runoff Election! The stamp on your voter registration card is proof – beyond any shadow of doubt – that you did in fact vote in the Republican Primary! It's your ticket to then voting in such a special election, so it's critical that you get that stamp in the Primaries!

My fellow Texans, though you may be Democrats, Independents or Libertarians as a rule, you should wear that “REPUBLICAN” stamp with pride, for it will mean not only that you voted in this historic election, it will mean that YOU VOTED FOR FREEDOM FOR ALL TEXANS!

One final note for you freedom-loving Patriots throughout the nation:  although you cannot vote in this election here in Texas - Primary or otherwise - the one thing that you can do which would help We Texans tremendously, is to simply DONATE TO THE MEDINA CAMPAIGN.  She's going against two Goliaths who have multi-million-dollar coffers; the bulk of which is being supplied by their corporate, big-government cronies.  Being the only grassroots candidate in this race, every penny of Debra Medina's support comes from people like you and me and we could SURE USE YOUR HELP in this titanic effort.  Thanks for any help you can afford!

So Y'all Picked the Winning Horse ...

... and now you'll have to live with it!

(make sure to view the video)

For weeks now, I've been warning my local Tea Partyers and other fellow patriot groups about Scott Brown being a RINO.  I told them that there was a choice for real constitutional change in Joe Kenedy (yes, the name begets a sense of irony, to be sure).  Being the Libertarian and "Tea Party" choice, Kenedy wouldn't have garnered the votes necessary to defeat the latest shill Democrat, Martha Coakley, and she would have been elected.  I have no doubt about that.

I also have no doubt now that Brown has been elected, it will be "business as usual" in Washington.  There will be no significant change for the better.

So this is the quandary that we're given:  To vote for the "winning horse" and then live with the results or to vote for the one likely to lose and have a clear conscience.

I'll take the later each and every time.  I used to believe in that "lesser of two evils" nonsense, but never again.  Voting for evil - even if it's the "lesser" - is still voting for evil.  We are what we eat!

Each and every Massachusetts citizen who voted for Scott Brown, plus each and every American who sent his campaign money or even who merely promoted him, is directly responsible for whatever consequences will arise from his tenure in Washington.

We the People of the United States, via yet another election (even a special election) now bear the burden of responsibility of the continued flip-flopping between the Warfare State of the Republicans and the Welfare State of the Democrats.

We've been screaming "we want change" for the past couple of years, yet we've now voted "we want things to stay the same" yet again.

And "the same" it shall be.

Debra Medina Was the Surprise Last Thursday

I had the pleasure of watching the First Texas Gubernatorial Debate - sponsored by PBS affiliate KERA in Dallas - with our local Tea Party group here in Fredericksburg, TX.  There were about 150 people in attendance to watch it on the big screen at the Fredericksburg Brewery.

I noticed that well over half - and probably closer to three-quarters - of the folks in attendance were Rick Perry supporters, as most hadn't even heard about my candidate, Debra Medina prior to this debate.

I'm a staunch Debra Medina supporter (I'm her Blanco County Coordinator) and I was intensely interested in how the "status quo" crowd would react to Mrs. Medina in the debates.  I wasn't disappointed, to say the least.  In fact, I really didn't get a chance to view much of the debate, as almost all of my attentions were devoted to viewing the crowd's reactions.  I knew I could view the entire debate later since I had my DVR setup to record it.

It was most telling to see how the crowd reacted to both Toll Road Rick Perry's and Kay Bailout Hutchison's answers - or I should say "non-answers and petty bickering."  Nary a peep from the crowd.  Not a single clap or hurrah did they utter throughout the event!  Well, other than an occasional disgusted grunt, hiss or pshaw, that is.

However, there was quite a different reaction to Mrs. Medina on several occasions; in fact at just about every real answer and real solution she gave, the crowd clapped and cheered loudly.  I could easily tell that the Tea Partyers were waking up to the fact that all Perry and Hutchison were offering was the same old lame big-government "solutions" that have brought this state and nation to it's virtual knees both economically and morally over the past several decades.  They were ready for a fresh, truly grass-roots approach and Mrs. Medina gave it to them in spades.

After the debate was over, our table - that we had filled with Medina promotional goodies - was absolutely attacked by the crowd!  Literally the only things we had left were some push-cards.  They cleaned us out of all of our signs, all of our bumper-stickers and almost all of everything else we had on hand.

The Rick Perry table?  It was pristine and untouched; not a single sticker or sign was taken!  Imagine that.

For all of you out-of-staters who think this election doesn't apply to you:  bear in mind that if we can pull-off a win for Debra in our state, that will set a mushrooming precedent throughout the nation.  Folks in your state will begin to say, "we too want a non-establishment, grass-roots representative at our state capitol!"

Remember, States Rights (10th Amendment) is what will likely be the one thing which eventually will spell the doom of our overreaching federal government.  We're way past the point of being able to expect to foster any change at the federal level.  Lest we forget, there are many, many instances of legislation passing in recent years after the polls clearly showed that 90+% of the populace was against it!

Please help we Texans back Debra Medina.  Our election here in Texas could very well beget a similar grassroots candidate winning in your state as well.

It's Been a Looooong Road

Wow! It's been a whopping two-and-a-half YEARS since my last blog-post. I suppose I'm slacking off a bit?

It hasn't been for naught, however, since I've been very, very busy learning about and fighting the New World Order throughout that time.

First, about the time of my last posting (June of '07) I started a Ron Paul meetup group for my area (the Hill Country of Central Texas). We were VERY successful in that endeavor; so successful, in fact, that we took over the Republican Party in our area from the entrenched neocons and even sent "one of our own" on to the National Convention!

Then, after Dr. Paul stepped out of the race in June of '08, we morphed the group into a local affiliate of the newly formed Campaign for Liberty. We maintained our activities in the local socio-political spectrum via this format until the present; albeit at a somewhat relaxed pace.

Now, we're fast approaching the March 2nd Primaries and are pushing our candidate for governor, Debra Medina. Debra is quickly becoming "the phenom" amongst the conservative community in our great state, which is not surprising, as she's not only battling two entrenched "professional politicians" - Kay "Bailout" Hutchison and "Toll Road Rick" Perry - but is also "one of our own" ... a Ron Paul Republican!

I've also, over the past couple of years, been helping to educate the public (and especially my own local patriots) about how to go about preparing for the impending collapse of society as we know it. Picture Katrina times ten thousand and that's about what I expect to happen. We Americans are trained since birth to be "fat, dumb and happy" and will be absolutely clueless about how to survive in a grid-down scenario. There are ways in which to increase your chances for survival exponentially, but they're not what you'd expect. Read my "True Preparedness..." document on the main page for a better idea about what I believe we'll be in for. I also already have a Survival Book Reading List installed on the main page as well and you'll quickly realize that what I purport in my document is not just conjecture on my part, but knowledge gained from people who are much more experienced than me about preparedness and survivalism.

I'm also currently working on a few other such documents, which I'll post as .pdf files upon completion, that cover such topics as a New World Order Reading List, a Survivalism Links List and a Real News Links List. So keep checking back every week or so to see if new documents have been posted.

I hope to get back into this "blogging thing" more now that my life has settled down a bit. All of We the People should make use of such avenues to speak our minds, especially now that our world has grown so utterly disdainful of our God given freedoms - especially the right to speak freely!
